This month, our Community Works team in Uganda completed another impactful solar installation—this time led by Barnabas and Victor, two of our locally trained technicians. This system, complete with solar panels, an inverter, and batteries, now powers an entire home off-grid. Even during extended outages from the local power company, this home will remain lit and functional—an essential support in a region where consistent electricity is far from guaranteed.
But more than the system itself, it’s who completed the work.
As members of our Community Works team, Barnabus and Victor have received hands-on training in construction, solar technology, and sustainable infrastructure. Their growing expertise is now meeting real needs—offering tangible solutions for families in vulnerable situations and contributing to the development of their direct community.
Through their work, Barnabas and Victor are showing what’s possible: a future where power isn’t just imported—it’s built from the ground up by those who call this place home.
