As we step into a new year, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving students through the Students Living a Mission (SLAM) program in Kenya. With activities already in full swing across multiple regions, we are seeing lives transformed as young people grow in a knowledge of God, and how they can serve like Jesus did.

A Strong Start to the Year

The momentum for 2025 is strong. SLAM Youth Clubs are running smoothly, outreach efforts are growing, and students are responding with hope and conviction in their faith. Across all regions, our teams are staying committed to the mission—bringing the love of God into schools, villages, and communities.

Impact Across the Regions of Kenya

Western Region

January saw three weeks of outreach in the Western region, where SLAM leaders ministered to students at St. Stephen Maraba Secondary School and Sigalagala National Polytechnic. Through these efforts:

  • Five students accepted Christ at St. Stephen Maraba.

  • Students engaged deeply with bible studies

  • At Sigalagala National Polytechnic, young leaders are stepping up and showing promise in both faith and character.

  • Village students continue to thrive, with parents acknowledging God’s grace at work in their children’s lives.

Nairobi Region

In Nairobi, the team has been reaching hundreds of students each week through school programs and clubs:

  • At Bethlehem and Shilo schools, 156 students participated in ministry, with small group discussions helping deepen engagement.

  • School clubs continue to grow, with 241 students reached and 16 making a decision to follow Christ.

Coast Region

Ministry in the Coast region is making a deep impact, particularly among teenagers:

  • Levis led sessions on Identity in Christ and Peer Pressure, helping students navigate real-life challenges.

  • Praise God for the incredible moment when a Muslim teenager chose to accept Christ and be born again!

The team visited the children home to be with the less fortunate, prayed together did some cleaning and even shared what the had with the orphans.

Nyanza Region

Jeremiah and his team continue making steady progress in their work with teenagers, building relationships and providing spiritual guidance through club meetings and outreach efforts.

Western Region – Continued Growth

Alongside Samson’s leadership, the team in the Western region continues to bear fruit, with seven individuals giving their lives to Christ.

Bible Study & Discipleship

Maurice, our Senior Leader over Kenya International Programs, has been leading a Bible study focused on the book of Acts, equipping the leadership team with a deeper understanding of God’s Word. These sessions are strengthening the foundation of ministry, ensuring that those leading are also continually growing in faith and knowledge.

Bible Study & Community Growth

Weekly Bible studies have provided a place for deeper reflection, group discussion, and faith-building. These gatherings create an environment where youth can apply scripture to their daily lives and encourage one another in their spiritual growth and development.

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer and invite you to join us in lifting up the following needs:

  1. Growth – That God would open doors for SLAM to reach even more students across Kenya.

  2. More Laborers – That God would raise up more leaders to support the growing ministry.

  3. Upcoming Leadership Conference – That it would equip and strengthen those serving in the field.

As we look ahead, we trust that God will continue to guide and provide for this work. Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement. Together, we are witnessing incredible transformation in the lives of students across Kenya!
