Finding More Than A Job With GOD India

Rajib works with G.O.D. India as a result of a job creation initiative. Many Indians in Gurgaon (where we have our hub) find work in call centers, which provides enough income to support their families that often live in more distant rural areas. These jobs demand long hours and often that they work all night and sleep all day, accommodating the time difference of the West. Such work can be isolating. For those that want to participate in ministry, their employment makes it nearly impossible. Recognizing this issue, our organization has partnered with businesses in the States to create jobs that will afford the opportunity of ministry to those that have it in their hearts to do so.

When Rajib Laishram lost his job during the pandemic, he knew that despite the feeling that everything was crashing down, God was his provider.

To start with I should say this pandemic has been tough and I believe it has taken a toll on everyone. I lost some of my relatives due to this pandemic last year and it’s been really challenging.

Before I joined GOD India I was working with a digital marketing firm but due to the pandemic they had let go some of the employees and unfortunately I was among one of them. Beginning of the year 2021 was filled with unfortunate events. With all the things happening around me, I had no idea what to do and what the next chapter would look like. It felt like everything was just crashing down.

One of my close friends happened to know Manohar and we got in touch. I spoke to Manohar and he helped connect me with the GOD Int’l team. I was really fortunate to get selected for the job during such a difficult time. This reminded me that our God is truly the provider of all things “Jehovah-jireh”.

“This reminded me that our God is truly the provider of all things “Jehovah-jireh”."

The G.O.D. India job creation initiative did more than just give Rajib a job, it gave him community and ministry opportunities.

Joining a new organization is not always easy, but with GOD India things are different. I never felt like I was left out as a new person. It's been just 8 months since I have been part of GOD India, but I feel like I have been part of the organization for much longer. The warmth and welcome I received from the team has been amazing. I’m able to work well without getting stuck because everyone is very supportive and ready to help me whenever I need. I like the fact that everyone is open to share ideas and brainstorm new strategies which also helps me become more creative. I love the culture we have at GOD India. It is not just work nonstop, which the culture that most of the corporate sector typically follows. Rather, the GOD India work culture is more relational, where we are doing life together. As a team, I love the fact that we come together and pray and share our needs. It's amazing! It makes me feel like I have people I can rely on.

Reflections fellowship gathering, our weekly bible study and small group, has also been a great help for me personally (Read more about Reflections here). Coming together every Friday to have fellowship and dedicated time to learn and share our life experience with our savior has really helped me grow in faith. Reflections also gave me the opportunity to see life from a different perspective. It really encourages me to hear everyone shares about their personal experiences and encounters with God. I feel fortunate to be part of a community where I can open up and seek help whenever I need. I’m very thankful to have friends who are like family that look out for each other, helping out in all ways I need.
